My parents came down one weekend to install our Christmas present from them (a garage door), which never showed up, so Dad just worked on replacing a door and insulating our little addition that they had put on the house. On Saturday Nessa kept complaining that her tummy hurt. We just thought it was that she ate too much junk food. But in the middle of the night she started throwing up. So she was still throwing up most of the day Sunday. Saturday night we got our 1st major snow storm of about 5 inches. So even though this little girl was sick, she had to go and play in it. She is trying to smile, but I know she was not feeling good. I think the best part for me was when she came up to me and said, "Mommy I tooted (farted) and now my panties are wet." Poor girl. She did share it with the rest of us even. I will get pictures of our new door and put up soon.

Well we did it! We pulled off a SURPRISE Birthday Party for my Mom. Rhett, Tanessa and I went up for the weekend, she just thought we needed a break with a long weekend for Rhett. On Sunday we went to church with my Mom and shortly there after Brian and Jeff and all their families showed up to get things ready. I have to give a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to Jodi and Jen for doing everything. We had an Olive Garden theme so we each made a pasta dish and we had salad and bread sticks. Taylor made cake pops and we also had cake and ice cream.

Jodi put together a Atkinson Grandkids got Talent Show. Tanessa sang Itsy Bitsy Spider and I Am A Child of God. There were alot of people there (Grandma, Grandpa, Mom, Dad, Great Grandma Bruce, Great Uncle Roger, Great Uncle Richard, Great Aunt Dauna, Uncle Brian, Aunt Jodi, Uncle Jeff, Aunt Jen, Eric, Rikki, Jocelyn, Payton, Taylor, Logan, Halle, Braxton, Tim, Landon, Seth, Sydney, and Eddie). She sang very quietly, but she did it.

Jen put together a Family Feud game with the theme of Mother. She had the boys play the girls and the boys did beat the girls. Then she had us 3 siblings do a who knows Mom best questionnaire and we all tied.

We even had a celebrity come and sing to her. Yes that is Billy Ray Cyrus. We really surprised her and it was a great night.

This is poor Tanessa at my piano lessons today. She was out, but it never fails as soon as I picked her up she was wide awake. My student even tried to wake her up by playing different keys really loud and she didn't move a muscle.

Tanessa and I started preschool again and this last week we did Snow!

She loves to cut so we made paper snowflakes. We also talked about what you can and can not cut. She did try to give Kosha a haircut and I thought that was pretty funny.

Gotta love that girl. She also love to glue so we glued Qtips and cotton balls. I tried to do the shaving cream and glue snowman, but didn't get the ratio right so it flattened out when it dried. We are going to try it again this week and get the ratio right and hopefully it will dry fluffy. Hope it works and I hope she continues to love preschool and that I can remember and enjoy doing it too.

After church we came home and Rhett made us all omelets. He is really good at making omelets, me on the other hand am not. After that we finally opened presents. It took Nessa a few to understand what was exactly going on, and then watch out she was on opening machine. Rhett was very proud.

Santa did find our house. I was even up past when he left. I stayed up until 2:00am finishing Tenessa's quilt.

Rhett got up at 7:00am to turn the Christmas tree lights on and to feed the animals. So at 7:30am I went to check on Nessa and when I opened the door it woke her up. Since we had church at 10:00am we helped her wake all the way up.

So when she first went out and saw all the stuff on the chair, so wasn't awake enough to understand what was going on.

She did finally start to wake up and she LOVED all the stuff that Santa brought her. If you notice her quilt is under her stuff from Santa because I was tooo tired to wrap it and put it under the tree.

After bowling we just went home and hung out for the rest of the day. Nessa loved Papa and wouldn't leave him alone. I really don't think he minded though. The only bad thing about bowling is Rhett hurt his hip, and both Dick and Debbies' hands hurt from their arthritis and trying to grab those big balls.

The day after Thanksgiving we were going to go and have my fabulous sister-in-law take our family photos. Since it has been 2 years. I had to bribe Rhett with having Ranger in the pictures to get him to do it, but things didn't work out that way. Jen had to push the appointment back because our friend Dr. Lester called and had a chance to fix Jen's tooth, so she jumped on it (I don't blame her there). So we packed up and was heading over to Lyman to see Grandma and Grandpa Arnell. Half way into town the truck started acting up. And then when we got into town and shut the truck off it went from ok to worse. We tried to call a couple of people and couldn't get anyone since it was still a holiday. We finally got ahold of someone and he came and looked at it and said it was not good. So we drove it up to his shop and it was even worse. Well he couldn't figure out what was wrong so we called the company that we first called but they were closed. They came and got the truck. Well when they called they had good news and bad news. The good news it wasn't the engine that we thought it was, but the oil cooler pump. So it was still expensive, but it was not as expensive as a new engine. We were able to get it fixed and bring it home the next week when we went home. We were grateful we weren't on the interstate when it happened and that it wasn't a new engine. So while we were waiting at my parent's store for Rhett's parents to come and get us so we could go get their truck, so Rhett could go home for the week, while Nessa and I stayed at my parents house. Jen finished with her dentist appointment so she come over and took Nessa's 3 year pictures. I love them. Now to find time and someone to take our family pictures.

On December 8th after Rhett's work we headed to St. George to stay the night and pick up Grandma. On December 9th at 5:00am we picked up Grandma and headed to La Quinta Resort and Club in Palm Springs, California. We made it in a little over 6 hours. When we got there it was already in the 70's so it didn't take long for Rhett and Tanessa to get in the pool. We had a little floaty for Nessa and she would just get in it and go. She loved to go by herself.

Her favorite game was to go out into the deep end, 8 feet, and say Daddy come get me. He would have to swim and get her and push her back to the shallow end.

The other day Tanessa came in and said look I pretty. I looked closer at her and she had colored her eyelids with a green marker. She tought she was such a big girl. Good thing she is asking Santa for a dress up kit, including make up!

Tanessa is like me and LOVES music. While we were in Evanston after Thanksgiving she heard on the radio, I Want A Hippopotamus for Christmas and it is her new favorite song. I downloaded it onto my iPod and she has listened to nothing else but this. On this particular day I had it plugged into the docking station with the song on repeat (which played for 3 hours straight) and I found her on top of her chair singing the song over and over making up a little dance as she went. It was the cutest thing ever.

Right after she was born, we didn't have a name yet and it was 2:40am so we were all pretty tired.

Her 1st photoshoot with Grandma Atkinson. This little girl has a very special bond with both of her Grandmas' and Great Grandmas'.

Well today is a happy and sad day for me. My little girl Tanessa Kathryn Arnell is 3. She has been the biggest blessing in my life. I love her so much and she is such an amazing little girl. She is smart and funny and she melts my heart everyday.

Well every November UDOT has a conference that I always go up to SLC with Rhett for and this year Nessa got to go with us. Seeing how I knew it wouldn't be very fun for her to just shop all day we went to the Discovery Children's Museum one day.

Needless to say she LOVED IT. She was such a good girl, she left without complaining and she played extremely well with all the other kids there.

When we got home from Wyoming we went right to carving our pumpkins. Usually I am the only one cleaning them out, but this year Tanessa help alot and Rhett even helped.

Since I was using a scoop she had to use a spoon, it is one of the baby spoons.

She told her Dad what shape she wanted everything and he carved it just as she told him too.

Rhett, Tanessa and I went up to Wyoming for a family funeral, so while we were up there Tanessa and I stayed for a couple of days. It was the weekend before Halloween so I took Tanessa's costume and we went Trick or Treating to Great Grandma Bruce's house and to the Sim's where she got ALOT of candy. While at the Sim's she was even able to pet a lion and a giraffe. I didn't get any pictures of that though and I got into a little bit a trouble for that from Rhett.

Right when the leaves started to really change and fall Tanessa and I went for a walk. I am trying to loose some weight because I have gained 20 pounds this year. So on the way back we stopped to play in the leaves.

We it finally worked, I talked Rhett into going to the pumpkin patch with us to help us pick out pumpkins.

He did not want his picture taken though.

And sorry this isn't a very good picture of me, but this is all you get of me.

Tanessa started off with picking a big pumpkin that she could barely pick up.

So I talked her into this one, and she loved it because it had green on it.

She had a blast sitting on the straw bales, waiting for everyone else to get done. The tractor driver showed her how to get the straw and through it at Daddy and Mommy.

She had staw EVERYWHERE!

Dick, Debbie, and Grandma Verba came to visit on their way to St. George. We were able to get them a swinging deal on a hotel room so we got to enjoy the pool.

Sad to say we were suppose to go see The Little Mermaid, but it got rained out, only after we sat for almost an hour in the rain. We did get to go and get pedicures and they even painted Nessa's for us.

Rhett had to go to training in September and I was bored so I started to redo our house.

I first rearranged our bedroom. Making it so I am by the heat and Rhett is by the window. I then painted Tanessa's night stand and dresser so they are white and pink instead of white and gold (they were my dresser and night stand when I was growing up). We then went and got new drawer pulls and knobs to put on them. I also took down her top bunk and rearranged her room. She now loves to play in her room and will spend a lot of time in there. I also rearranged the living room the next week. It is like we have a brand new house.

I still need to find a mirror to put above Nessa's dresser, but I think I am going to go to the glass shop and see how much they would charge to cut me out an oval or round one and hang it up without the frame.

Well it finally happened after 5 years of living down here in Richfield we had to make a trip to the ER. And now it wasn't for me. It seems Rhett has gone to the ER way more than me since we have been married. I have just had 1 more surgery than him.

He took a pill that makes your entire body blush and we didn't know that, so we thought he was having an allergic reaction. And because of how fast it came on Rhett was starting with a panic attach so it made it hard for him to breathe, so we packed up and went to the ER. The doctor was really nice, and just informed us that it was because of the medicine that he took. Once we got home, Rhett was extremely tired but ok. What a way to have Family Home Evening!

And for the crown, Nessa had to wear it to the ER and once we got there and she saw the doctor and nurse looking at her Daddy she asked if he wanted to wear it. What a nice girl and what a good Daddy to wear it!

Rhett and Dick did a lot of work that week we where there, and Dick still had to finish up. Debbie took some pictures to show off how much work they did do. And Dick wants to go up for more wood.

We were able to go to Wyoming from the 2nd of September until the 11th. We got to see Landon be baptized, a University of Wyoming football game, Nessa, my Mom, Rhett's Mom, and myself went shopping in Park City, and Rhett and I (but mostly Rhett) helped his parents get their wood for the winter and get it split and stacked. Nessa also got to spend a lot of time with Grandma and Papa Arnell. She LOVED every minute of it. She did get pretty sick the night of the 9th. I was very glad that night to have my mother-in-law there to calm me down and for the power of the priesthood to help Nessa calm down and breathe. We had a wonderful time and were happy to come home too.

Today is the Anniversary of my parents. It is their 41st. This isn't their wedding picture, but it is one that I have and love. They are such amazing people and I know that my brother's and myself feel so blessed to have them as parents. They are such great examples of what a marriage should be. It doesn't seem like they are old enough to be celebrating 41 years together. I am so happy they got away from the store to celebrate. I love you Mom and Dad.

Tanessa really is like a sponge right now. She repeats just about everything we say. She also wants to dress like Mommy. So on this day I was wearing a hat, because I didn't do my hair, so when we went to the grocery store she had to wear a hat too. Rhett has to be careful while watching football games so that she doesn't learn some not so nice words from him.

I have put Tanessa in a Mommy and me Gymnastics class.

The 1st week we both loved it.

This week there were just way too many kids and parents that didn't follow common manners by letting their kids push Nessa around so they could get ahead of her in line. And me being the parent I am, wouldn't let Nessa do that and made her wait her turn. If this continues I have to say that I am not going to keep Nessa in it.

Tanessa is such a smart little girl that I decided it was time for a Mommy and Tanessa Preschool. So today was the 1st day! We will only do it once a week and so far we both LOVED it.

She colored the O and had olives to snack on.

She traced and then wrote some O's. Some are pretty good and some need some work.

She painted an owl and then made an orange octopus!

After Landon's Baptism all the Atkinson family loaded up into 3 vehicles and headed to Laramie.

We all went to the University of Wyoming vs. Weber State football game.

Rhett, Tanessa, my Mom, my Dad, and myself sat in some seats we were given by a family friend. With Halle joining us the first half of the game and Taylor the second half.

It was fun, but it was getting down right cold by the end of the game. We heard after the game with the wind it was 42.

Tanessa LOVED the game. She cheered when her Dad and Grandpa cheered, she sang the beer song, and lasted until 2:00 minutes left on the game clock. Then she snuggles into Grandma and went to sleep.

It had been almost 5 years since Rhett and I had been to Laramie and boy has it changed. The married student housing bungalows that Rhett and I first moved into after we got married are no longer there. It was sad to see them gone, but they were old 13 years ago when we moved into them. Also sad we can't show Nessa were we used to live.

Fun weekend was had by all!

I was practicing the piano for Landon's Baptism and every time that Nessa would catch me playing she would come over and push me and tell me, "Nessie's turn"

One of the songs was I am A Child of God, and Nessa can sing it. So one time she did let me play and she stood by my side and sang, "I Child of Christ" as Nessa calls it, as I was playing it. It was a very good moment for me!

I am a slacker, but yesterday was Rhett's Birthday. He turned 36 and he is getting better with age.

I love him so much and am so grateful that he choose me to be his wife. He is a truly amazing man, and Tanessa and I are very lucky to have him taking care of us. I love that he loves to work, that he is smart, that he is funny, that he laughs at my stupid jokes, that he is such a wonderful father, that he is willing to help out his parents and mine, that he is a righteous priesthood holder and is happy to use that power. What a man what a man what a mighty good man!!!!

Ok when I said dare devil, I mean so LOVES to go on rides.

This year Mom let Grandma (twice) and Daddy (once) that Nessa on the fair-us-wheel (so sorry can not spell). Mom was nervous in case this little girl didn't like it, but as soon as they got on, she LOVED it and that is all she wanted to go on!

She did ride the rest of the kiddy rides, but she was bored with them.

The beginning of August we went to Afton to the Titnesor family reunion. On the way we stopped and picked Debbie up (Dick had to hay so he was unable to come).

Well we found out that Tanessa is a lot more like Daddy and Grandma than I had ever thought.

She use to just give the crackers to Ranger (hence why Ranger loves Nessa) but now she makes a cheese sandwich out of the crackers and cheese.

For our 24th holiday Uncle Brent came down and we all went golfing.

Nessa LOVED it!

Tanessa and I have been working on what her name is, what Mommy's name is, and what Daddy's name is. So for her she says Tanessa Arnell, mine is Kristi Arnell, and Rhett's is Rhett A Green.

Rhett also taught her to call people names like what is Daddy, and he first taught her to say AWESOME, but now it just depends on her mood if he is awesome, a stinkerbutt, or a dorkfish. Same with Mommy. We have got her to day Grandpa is a cowboys and Grandma is pretty awesome.

On the way back from the parade we stopped at the city park and looked at some of the booths and my husband bought me an early anniversary present. It is big and loud, but I LOVE IT!

She liked the parade and liked the candy. She still is shy and wasn't supper aggressive to get the candy.

She did not like the firetrucks and all the noise that they made. She would stand behind me and hide.

She had a good time. She wouldn't let Mommy go sit with the adults, I had to sit with her and help her get candy. But when it was over she was very happy to get back in her stroller and go home.

We stayed in Richfield for the 4th this year. And so on the 2nd they had a kids parade. So Nessa talked Daddy into taking us so we walked up and watched it. Nessa liked it!

Tanessa is really at the age of doing what everyone else is doing. So when Keisha put on some goggles Nessa had to put on some goggles. She left hers on a lot longer that Keisha did.

Over this last weekend we were able to go up to Wyoming. We went for my Dad's Surprise 60th Birthday party, but won't you know I didn't take a single picture. We did surprise him and it was very nice.

The next day we went to Rhett's parents house and Trent and Dawn's girls were over there so Nessa got to play with all of her cousins that weekend. Grandma Arnell even took the girls swimming.

The Hike at Girls Camp

or as the girls called it

The Hike from Hal!

We went on a 2.5 mile hike that turned into a 5 mile hike, miscommunication between leaders.

It was absouletly beatiful, if you didn't mind listening to all the girls whinning.

There was a lot of water to be crossed, a few snow drifts, and a lot of logs to get around.

Hal was our leader and you couldn't have ask for a better man. He GOT in the water to help us across the fast moving streams, put up with the girls turning his name into a naughty word, and even made a couple of them laugh.

When we finally reached Lost Lake it was absolutely amazing.

The only problem was the mosquitoes. They were AWFUL!!!!!!

It took us 2 and a half hours to hike in and only 1 hour and 45 minutes to hike out.

This sums it up for me. Sitting there with her feet in the water enjoying the beauty and peace!

For a potty prize for Nessa we went up to Salt Lake City and went to The Living Planet Aquarium. Although it is not very big, it is sooo much better than the zoo.

Nessa LOVED to see all the fish.

She also really loved the penguins until one stopped right in front of her and looked her right in the eyes. She was then done with the Penguins.

We didn't think we could get her out of there, but finally after an hour and a half we did. What a great way to spend the afternoon. We all enjoyed it!

This girlie is having a hard time sleeping lately. If we get her to sleep she wakes up at least twice a night.

Don't know what to do or what happened to our good little sleeper.

I even have to rock her to sleep at nap time and at bed time.
